Randwick Nutritionist :Healthy Energy Balls
Randwick Nutritionist-This is one of those recipes that I prepare on a Sunday afternoon to kill time with the kids if it’s raining outside. One of my favourite nuts from all time our almonds. ( mainly because of a childhood memory which sits fondly in my mind).
My Healthy Energy Balls generally have a lot of nutritional health benefits including a good source of protein, which will help you build muscle and curb of hunger cravings.They are high in fibre which will help improve your digestion, thus helping with weight management.
Almonds are also a fantastic source of good fats which is great if your looking to protect your self from getting diabetes or improve hypertension.
Ingredients For My Healthy Healthy Energy Balls Recipe:
- 300g of whole almonds
- 2 scoops of protein powder Recommended protein powder
- 16 Fresh dates
- 1 teaspoon of natural vanilla paste
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 orange zest
- desiccated coconut for rolling
The Steps To Make My Healthy Pistachio Energy Balls Recipe:
Step 1: Wash your hands
Step 2: place all your ingredients in front of you
Step 3:Add almonds, cinnamon, orange zest and protein powder in food processor until finely blended
Step 4:Add fresh dates, and vanilla paste until nicely formed together
Step 5:Add 1-2 tablespoons of water if the mixture fails to form
Step 6:Take mixture out of the food processor, this is the fun part so the kids can help out here. Start by dividing the mixture into 20 cent coin sized balls
Step 7:Roll balls over desiccated coconut to cover
Step 8:Leave in fridge for 30 minutes
Step 9: The Healthy Energy Balls will last in the fridge for approximately 2 weeks ( if they last that long) if you store them in a container.
