How many vegetables have you eaten today?

The recommended daily intake is 5-7 serving of vegetables per day.

What is a serve:

1/2 cup of cooked vegetables or cooked legumes

1 medium potatoes

1 cup salad vegetables

Fact:

Vegetables, like fruits, are low in calories and fats but contain good amounts of vitamins and minerals. All the Green-Yellow-Orange vegetables are rich sources of calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, beta-carotene, vitamin B-complex, vitamin-C, vitamin-A, and vitamin K.

Vegetables are high in anti-oxidants which are the bodies defence against free radicals ( unstable molecules which in high levels may cause cell damage).

Regular consumption of delicious  vegetables by either drinking or eating  them can help protect you against lifestyle disease such as heart disease.

My own personal rule is if I have not eaten enough veggies in the day, I try to drink them, something like a carrot apple cucumber celery ginger juice is the best on a warm day!
